your an exceptional photographer there Jodi...I love the tree on the side of the cliff..especially in black and white versus the color. If you haven't been up to Lake Las Vegas to take pictures yet maybe you should take the trip out there they have some beautiful places for photography especially by the Monte Lago..they have a courtyard there near the village that is gorgeous. thanks for sharing these fabulous photos...: )
Tami- I have lived here about a year and still haven't made it to Lake Las Vegas- but definitely on my list. I want to check out the Wine Walk at Monte Lago (wine tasting around the lake). Hopefully soon. Thanks!
The park is open year round. It was a warmer winter day (40's) and the hike had elevation so we were plenty warm from that :) . There is no year round snow, but the mountains have snow in the winter and if you go hiking on certain trails and certain times, you get awesome streams from the run off. We were wearing waterproof (ish) shoes and only had one spot where we had to walk through the water. There are sooo many trails up there. I like that I have been a few times and each time a new and beautiful area.

ReplyDeleteAwesome shots Jody. I didn't know you can go hiking year around in the Reds without any winter gear. Is there permanent snow anywhere around there ?
